You must enter an activation code, before you can use your MitID authenticator.
You can get an activation code from the Citizen Service or via SMS. The activation code can be used with one authenticator, like your MitID app, and is yours alone. This means that you cannot get an activation code for anybody else or ask others to get an activation code for you.
If you enter the wrong activation code three times, it will be blocked, and you need to get a new activation code.
The Citizen Service is able to provide you with an activation code on paper. It is applicable to one authenticator and must be used within 48 hours from being created. Remember to bring a valid picture ID.
Find the nearest Citizen Service Centre.
If you receive MitID notifications on your smartphone, you can also receive an SMS with an activation code on the same phone number. You can use it to activate one authenticator and must be used within 30 minutes from being received.
Contact MitID support, Citizen Service or your bank – if your bank supports MitID. They are all able to send an activation code to the phone number you have registered with MitID. It requires that your phone number has not been changed within the last 120 hours.
